Keep your potbelly pig healthy and happy

Since 1986, the Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig has only grown in popularity. Extremely social, affectionate, clean, and curious, they are a constant delight. Weighing in at anywhere inbetween 60 to 175 lbs, these omnivores members of the Suidae family can be expected to live in average life of 12 to 20 years. Contrary to popular belief, pigs are not lazy, but actually quite energetic, and require ample room to mill about and graze. You should make sure your yard is free of toxic elements and debris that could potentially cause your pot bellied friend harm. A low sitting structure is required to keep the pig safe if it stays out doors regularly, as well as a small childs pool, or "mudhole" to help cool them off in the hot summer months. In the cold winter months, you must take care to make sure they are provided ample bedding to keep them warm when the temperature drops.
